STRUCTURE
The South Australian
State Emergency Service
is organised in outline as follows:
-
State
Headquarters:
Responsible
for administering the Service and for certain co-ordination
aspects.
-
Regional
Headquarters:
Regional
Managers are responsible for providing an extension
of the State Headquarters role at the Regional level.
-
Unit
Headquarters:
At
the local level, each Unit is AUTONOMOUS in it's own
right, but a requirement is that the formal internal
structure of the Organisation, including operational
procedures, be standardised on a national basis so
far as local conditions and needs will allow.
Local
Controllers are responsible for the raising, organising
and training of their respective Units and for providing
an operational response in emergencies/disasters.
Administratively,
the chain of communication is through these levels.
